ロンドンからのメール（3/17）

震災以来5日間「帰宅して着替えてシャワー浴びてまた出勤」の繰り返し。会社の至近に住んでるのがいいんだか悪いんだか，曜日の感覚も定かでなかったり。

久々にメーラーを立ち上げてみると、数々のジャンクメールのなかにロンドンの旅行書専門店”The Travel Bookshop"からの注文確認メール（以前注文したときに品切れだった本が入荷しましたがどうしますか、というお尋ね）が届いている。
この本屋さんは，映画「ノッティングヒルの恋人」の舞台にもなった旅行書専門店で，小さな店舗に世界各地のガイドブックや紀行文学，写真集のたぐいが積まれている。

抑制がききつつ気遣うイギリス的表現…「チャリングクロス街84番地」を思い出してほろりとする。
